Marshall De Rosa’s U.S. Senate Campaign in Florida
for Independence from “D.C. Tyranny”

Dr. Marshall De Rosa, Political Science professor at Florida Atlantic University ( announced his Constitution Party candidacy for the United States Senate on Saturday, July 4th, 2009 at Jonathan Dickinson State Park.

Professor De Rosa spoke of his decision to seek the U.S. Senate seat as a candidate with the country’s fastest- growing third party ( saying, “The time is short and the opportunities for preserving the constitutional rule of law are few. It simply will not happen by relying on the two parties now controlling our government. Americans have come to realize the duopoly in D.C. does not have their best interests in mind.

Government has extended its tentacles into virtually every aspect of our lives and the pockets of generations not yet born.
“My candidacy offers the people of Florida the chance to “opt out” of the endless cycle that has so devastated our country.”

Dr. De Rosa received his Ph.D. and M.A. from the University of Houston and has taught at Louisiana State University and Davis and Elkins College. He is an adjunct faculty member for the Ludwig von Mises Institute, a Salvatori Fellow of the Heritage Foundation, and a member of the Philadelphia Society.

His publications include The Confederate Constitution of 1861: An Inquiry Into American Constitutionalism (University of Missouri Press) and The Ninth Amendment and the Politics of Creative Jurisprudence (Transaction Publishers) and most recently Redeeming American Democracy (Pelican Publishing Company 2007). Professor De Rosa has spent the past 36 years studying American politics and institutions.

Constitution Party of Florida chairman Dan Gonzales said “A man of Professor De Rosa’s caliber and his commitment to returning to Constitutional principles makes him the right man at the right time to help restore our liberties.”

Constitution Party National Committee Chairman Jim Clymer added, “Marshall De Rosa represents the overwhelming majority of voters demanding meaningful choices in the electoral process. He believes in once again putting the United States Constitution front and center of all policy decisions, and he demands that it be the last word for those who govern us.”

Paraphrasing philosopher Edmund Burke, Dr. De Rosa said, “Little platoons of like-minded patriots throughout Florida must… respond to duty if liberty is to be recovered and shackles and chains of the slide towards tyranny cast aside.” Marshall De Rosa is prepared to lead Floridians to help restore Constitutional government and re-establish liberty across these United States.

    Is DeRosa’s platform basically that of the CPFL?

    As far as I know.
