The Sunshine News has a blog article on the Constitution Party US Senate candidate in Florida, Bernie DeCastro. He claims to be the most conservative candidate in the race, specifically calling out Republican Marco Rubio as too liberal.
Is Florida looking for a U.S. Senate candidate who is even more conservative than Marco Rubio? Bernie DeCastro, the Constitution Party candidate, thinks so. DeCastro was in Tallahassee today to fill out his paperwork to run for Senate.
A former inmate himself who was paroled in 1984 and pardoned by the late Lawton Chiles, DeCastro now is based in Marion County where he runs a work release facility, helping inmates and addicts got on with their lives.
DeCastro questioned Rubio’s conservative credentials. “Marco Rubio is just more of the same-an attorney, a professional politician and a lobbyist,” said DeCastro. “His allegiance is going to be to the party.”
DeCastro said that Rubio will not call for abolishing the IRS and the Federal Reserve and has refused to back Glenn Beck’s 912 project.
“I’m the most conservative candidate of all of them-bar none,” said DeCastro. “I’m a constitutional conservative.”
