FL: Author, Financial Analyst Richardson joins Khavari Ticket

Press release:

Darcy G. RichardsonMIAMI, SEPTEMBER 1 — Gubernatorial hopeful Farid A. Khavari named his running mate today, announcing that author and financial analyst Darcy G. Richardson of Jacksonville qualified for the ballot for Lieutenant Governor on Wednesday.

“Darcy’s wealth of political experience and economic expertise are of inestimable value to this campaign,” says Khavari, 67 of Miami. “More importantly, they will prove indispensable when we take office next January and begin the job of turning Florida’s economy around.”

Richardson, 54, is a nationally known figure in independent political circles, not least for Others, his multi-volume history of third party politics in America. He’s managed numerous campaigns, including the 1988 independent presidential campaign of former US Senator Eugene McCarthy. He also ran for office himself twice in the 1980s, on the ticket of Pennsylvania’s Consumer Party.

As a former senior specialist for a major brokerage firm, Richardson has more than a dozen years experience in the financial services industry. His seventh book, _Collapse: How the Managerial Class Plunged the Nation into the Greatest Depression_ is slated for publication in October 2011.

The centerpiece of the Khavari/Richardson platform is formation of a state bank to serve the financial needs of Florida’s people and the requirements of the state’s economy.

“The banking industry’s dirtiest secret,” says Richardson, “is that it’s half ‘socialist,’ and in the worst sense of that word. While privately held at the profit end, it externalizes all the attendant risks to the public. If the people of Florida are going to bear the risks of finance, we contend that they should also reap its benefits.”

Khavari and Richardson will face Democrats Alex Sink and running mate Rod Smith, a former State Senator from Gainesville, and Republican Rick Scott and his yet-to-be-named lieutenant governor in the November 2nd election.

Good luck Farid and Darcy! Chiles is already getting out of your way 😉

I’m intrigued by the idea of forming a state bank. This issue has united the Green and Libertarian candidates in the Illinois gubernatorial race, despite their major differences on other issues.

Very well said: “The banking industry’s dirtiest secret is that it’s half ‘socialist,’ and in the worst sense of that word. While privately held at the profit end, it externalizes all the attendant risks to the public.”
We must break the taxpayer’s connection to Wall Street, bonding out to the global bankers–and the taxation connection as well. Good luck. http://letthemfail.us is behind you!

This is great news. It’s great news for Florida and Floridians because the expertise in economics and finance embodied in this ticket is just what we need when unemployment is north of 10% and the State is in debt up to its cupola.

Florida’s economic ship needs the right people in the wheelhouse. The Khavari/Richardson team is it.

This is great news. At this point we’r desperate for people like Khavari/Richardson. It’s the matter of economics not politics. Khavari/Richardson have promising plans for our future and our children’s future by creating new jobs, free education for college students and much more. We have to realize that Khavari/Richardson is the right choice for the improvement of our economy.

After reviewing all the candidates for governors, I realized that Khavari/Richardson is the best choice because State of Florida has huge problem. Alex Sink and Rick Scott don’t have any solution for fixing these problems. I hope that people analyze their candidates wisely and make the right choice for the governor.

I wish them the best, the state bank is a great idea for Florida, but my family will be leaving soon. The oil and corexit will soon be here and we will not subject ourselves to a poisonous atmosphere and environment. No tourists in their right minds will come to Florida. The already failing economy will take a devastating hit. The companies that rent moving vans are already tripling their prices since they rely on trucks being rented both ways to turn a profit. If they have to hire driving crews to fly to far away places and return with the empty trucks, it changes their business plan totally. They have to triple prices and make it up on volume.
