Constitution Party Reiterates Stance On Israel

The following was posted on the Constitution Party’s Facebook page on July 22, 2013:
Several people have been asking about the Constitution Party on Israel. Here is the Official Statement we issued in January 2013.
BECA– USE YOU ASKED: The Constitution Party statement on Israel. The entire Foreign Policy platform can be read at: http://www.constitutionparty.com/OurPrinciples/2012Platform/tabid/127/Default.aspx

The following are the comments under the original Facebook posting in January:

  • Daniel Duane Konruff When is the party going to get Senate & House seats?
    January 30 at 3:10pm
  • Minister Ray Merrick I support u all on alot, but I can not back you on this one.

  • Justin Smith Yeah, I’m not so much concerned about the foreign aid, but If you can’t say that you back Israel as an ally 100%, you won’t be getting my vote anytime soon.

  • Reuven Goldstein Justin/Ray, where is your allegiance? America or Israel? Neither of you are Jewish, so why care about Israel?

  • Ben Boatright I do beleive that israel is the land of god’s chosen people….

  • Molly Barbara Loveday Ok might want to look at a ME map and locate where Israel is. You honestly think they can defend when surrounded by people who don’t like them? Turning your back on Israel will cost America dearly.

  • John Morris Ryan I would also love to support this party and do believe we need to focus on the rights we were granted in the Constitution, but with that said I also have a stronger belief in God and cannot back a party that will not back Israel. As to why we back Israel even though we are not Jewish? Simply put it is God’s will we as Christian do so as written in the Bible.

  • Carol Ann ‘CA’ Franklin So who is there to support? What political party do you trust?
    January 30 at 3:43pm
  • Herb Free I don’t have a problem with this part of the platform so long as it still supports the capitalistic idea of selling as much armaments and supplies as Israel can afford.
    January 30 at 3:50pm
  • Adam DeMuth How many of you are willing to fly to israel and actually fight for it. Forcing others sons and daughters to go fight and die for a nation that has little to do with them on the other side of the world is wrong.

  • Grant Gillespie Israel is a good ally. But some of the people commenting need to remember that God put us in the USA, not Israel. We need to focus on our own problems first.

  • Michael Venditto Can some of you people stating that the Bible demands that Christians support Israel please give a Biblical exegesis of your argument? Anyone?
    January 30 at 4:10pm · 4
  • Bryan Shouse Israel is in no position, nor would it make any sense for it to invade the US, that is just plain utter nonsense.

That said, we have been no friend of Israel when we try to addict them to our monetary aid, then use that aid as leverage to force them to act against their own best interests. We have been no friend to Israel for the decades we have funded their enemies either, the countries that surround them, refuse to recognize them, and make it their goal to wipe Israel off the map.

I support Israel with my own resources, not anyone else’s. If you support Israel, then YOU spend your own money and resources, not everyone else’s. That’s what Democrats and Republicans do, and that’s why this country is bankrupt.

  • Keith Lopez Where in that statement does it say they don’t back Israel? Nowhere does it say that, it only say they can’t give what we don’t have. The American government should be a good Stewart with the money they have to run it and giving money to any country that we don’t have to give isn’t doing that. We can be a friend to Israel without giving them cash. If your neighbor doesn’t have food do you take the food from your kids so they can eat or when you have an excess of food you help out!

    January 30 at 9:32pm
  • Matt Redman Uhh, Javon, how do you know?
    January 30 at 10:33pm
  • Javon Wells Michael Venditto – God says to Abraham: “I will make you a great nation… I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse those who curse you; and in you ALL the families of the earth shall be blessed.” Genesis 12:1,2

“They have said ‘come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, that the name of Israel may be remembered no more.’ For they form a Confederacy against YOU (in attempting to destroy Israel, her enemies are actually fighting against God). The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites (ancient ancestors of the Arabs); Moab and the Hagrites; Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek (these nations have different names today, but are neighboring territories near Israel); Philistia (Palestine) with the inhabitants of Tyre (same region as today’s Lebanon)… Let them be counfounded and dismayed forever; yes let them be put to shame and perish, that they may know that You, whose name alone is the LORD, are the Most High over all the earth.”
    Excerpts from Psalm 83

Ezekiel 37 – the prophecy of Israel’s restoration: fulfilled in 1948.

Ezekiel 38 – A Russian led coalition of Muslim countries (including Iran, Libya, and Turkey) attempts to invade Israel, only to be destroyed by God Himself.

“Then the LORD said to me, go again, love a woman who is loved by a lover and is committing adultury, just like the love of the Lord for the children of Israel, who look to other gods and love the raisin cakes of the pagans.”
    Hosea 3:1

“For the children of Israel shall abide many days without king or prince, without ephod or teraphim. Afterward the children of Israel shall return and seek the Lord their God and David their King (the Messianic Descendant of David – Jesus). They shall fear the LORD and His goodness IN THE LATTER DAYS.”
    Hosea 4:4-5

Jesus warns His first followers (all of them were Jews) of virulent anti-semitism: “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake.”
    Matthew 24:9

The apostle Paul reminds us of God’s faithfulness to Israel:
“I say then, has God cast away His people? Certainly not! For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. God has not cast away His people whom He foreknew.”

“For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And so all Israel shall be saved…”
    Romans 11:1-2,25-26

“It shall be in that day that I (God) shall seek to destroy all the nations that Come against Jerusalem. And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look upon ME whom they pierced.”
    Zechariah 12:9-10

God has NEVER changed His mind about Israel. History shows that every nation that has ever mistreated the Jews has suffered tremendously, and lost their superiority on the world stage.

  • The Constitution Party It would take an amendment to the Constitution which allows Congress to send all the money it wants to whatever country it wants or specifically address Israel. Until then the Constitution Party must remain steadfast in its stance against any foreign aid.

  • Matt Redman Foreign aid is not the job of the government.

It is a task of the people. Aiding Israel is the task of God’s people.

  • Keith Lopez Why must blessing Israel begin & end with money? Have you ever heard of prayer? How many of you sent money from your own pockets? It’s easy to ask someone else to do something we are not willing to do ourselves, except if that’s you then you’re being a hypocrite!

Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
God’s elect are his people. If Christians would simply read their Bibles this wouldn’t be such a big deal. The Bible calls people that think highly of the unregenerate Hebrews people as judiazers (people that idolizes jews). Last time I checked idols were against God’s law. Most of Christendom needs to repent.

  • Chad Wigley Come on folks are we americans or isrealis, we send so much aid to isreal when here at home people are jobless struggling day to day to keep a home, that is if you are fortunate enough to have one. Our rights are being takin away, not to mention our brave men and women are dieing in wars that has nothing to do with us. It’s time we started taking care of our own. Now there is a party who will preserve the constitution and every thing our founding fathers gave their life for but people say they can’t support it cause of its stance on isreal. So I ask again are we Americans or israelis!

  • Daniel Bartholomew I support the CP on this. And as a Christian, I believe the Dispensational system that leads so many to support Israel is theologically dangerous and fundamentally unbiblical.

Comments on the July 22nd posting:
    • Michael Eberle (Treasurer of Constitution Party of Missouri) If people want to support Israel they are free to do it out of their own pocket. I recommend reading the brochure, “Not Yours to Give.” It is the story of Davy Crockett which makes the point that public money does not belong to Congress to do whatever they want with. There are several charitable organizations I support one of which helps Israel.

    • Carlos Solorzano I agree. There are plenty of countries who could argue for aid and our country doesn’t always comply. What makes Israel any different?
      July 22 at 6:23pm
    • Jeff Lafemina Standing with “gods chosen” people doesn’t mean supporting them with money even when we can’t afford to. Even if they are the chosen people they were Unchosen when they became corrupt. If you believe a book written over 3000 years ago. And I’m sorry to say this but the constitution party has just committed political suicide by posting this. The reason our country blindly supports Israel is because of AIPAC, this powerful Israel lobby who will stop at nothing to destroy your career if you don’t meet their demands.

    • Paul Krenning I wonder why us has a Nation is full with problems. We walked away from God. Look what happened to Israel when they walked away from God. why wouldn’t we want to stand with God’s chosen people? yes recognize Israel, has a brother not a friend.

I agree we should severely cut back on foreign aid, however, the world is still a dangerous place and just because we may not take an interest in the affairs of the world does not mean that the world will not take an interest in us. We have known since December 7, 1941 that isolationism is not necessarily in the best interest of the Republic. Israel is a good ally of the United States and friend of the American people. The fact is we will not fight Israel’s battles but we will also not let Israel fall. It is important that Israel’s enemies know that they will never defeat Israel militarily, because the United States will not allow her defeat, if necessary, as a last resort, we would send in troops, therefore, let Israel defend herself and continue to provide what military aid is necessary to allow this small nation to defend herself with her own blood. Our constitution doesn’t forbid foreign alliances or military aid, it does however, provide for the common defense. Helping a friend in the Middle East is, in the long run, providing for our own common defense.

Those who want to leave the Constitution Party over this issue are making a big mistake, ours is a party run from the grassroots up, stay in the party and help us form a more perfect platform. The Constitution Party is the party where your voice will be heard.

I just called God and he told me that he got fed up with the Jews a long time ago and kicked them out of the Holy Land.

He’s also pissed off about the U.N. and the western nations creating the state of Israel.

If you think I’m making this up, go ask Him yourself.

If Israel is so bad why are they helping Syrian refugees that are injured in the Syrian Civil War? CP should stick with moral issues like what Dr. Grundmann talks about. Getting into what should/shouldn’t do about Israel the CP will get the label of anti-semitic. Let the American Freedom Party do that. They are truly anti-Israel and anti-Israeli.

  4. Thomas L. Knapp

    BH @ 2,

“We have known since December 7, 1941 that isolationism is not necessarily in the best interest of the Republic.”

What did the Pearl Harbor attack have to do with “isolationism?” It came at the end of a long string of US interventions including embargos and even armed attacks on Japanese forces in China (using the Flying Tigers, a putatively “private” air force created by order of the president of the United States and financed by the US government).

“Israel is a good ally of the United States and friend of the American people.”

    Any evidence for that claim?

  5. Thomas L. Knapp

    GP @ 8,

Yep. And Lend-Lease in support of one side and not the other in the European theater.

To pretend that US foreign policy was “isolationist” prior to December 7th, 1941, is just plain at variance with the known historical facts.

As is the pretense that Israel is an “ally.”

Yes, it accepts larger bribes … er, welfare payments … er, foreign aid checks … from the US than any other state on Earth receives.

Yes, it votes with the US on UN resolutions, with much the same effect as phoning in a preference for a particular American Idol contestant.

It also has a record of attacking American vessels during wars (USS Liberty), murdering Americans in the course of piracy on the high seas (Mavi Marmara), spying on American government and industry (Jonathan Pollard, Lawrence Franklin, et. al), and passing sensitive military technology on to third parties (China) after promising not to as a condition of being cleared to buy that technology.

An ungrateful, duplicitous, murderous welfare queen is not the same thing as an “ally.”

  6. Chana

I’m Jewish. In fact I was raised in an Orthodox Jewish sect that is one of the most religious (frum) of the Orthodox. And I’m here to say NO, Americans and Christians DO NOT have to support the government of Israel. The government was established by atheistic and secular Jews with no love for the Torah or for God, and living as I do in a community of ex-pat Israelis, I hear what they say in Hebrew to each other, about how they have America and Christians wrapped around their little fingers.

MOST of Christianity has never believed the Jews were still the chosen people anyway, that belief belongs only to a minority of fundamentalist Protestant Christians dating to the late 1800s from a movement called dispensationalism/Darbyism.

The EARLIEST Christian writers taught that anyone who believes in Jesus is part of the NEW Israel.

  7. NewFederalist

Wow! This is really pulling from the archives! Thanks for sharing, Chana. Welcome to IPR.
