Libertarian Party of California Welcomes a New Elected Official

December 19, 2013 – The Libertarian Party of California welcomes the Hon. Jeff Hewitt, Mayor Pro-Tem of the City of Calimesa in Riverside County, to its ranks of elected officials.
Born and raised in California, Hewitt has served on the city council of Calimesa since 2011, spending several years on the planning commission, and rising to become Chairman before his election to the council.
Hewett expressed his intentions for joining the Party by stating, “I have been a supporter of the Libertarian Party for quite some time, having voted for Harry Browne. I believe in its principles of limited government.”

LPC’s Southern Vice Chairman Glynda Perrotte states, “I would like to welcome Mayor Pro-Tem Hewitt to the Libertarian Party of California. He joins our growing ranks of elected officials who are committed to preserving the choices for Californians that make this state a prized place to live.”

Hewitt is a small-business owner, is married and the proud father of six children and has several grandchildren. He lives with his wife, Wendy and family.
