NY Libertarian Governor Candidates

Per the Albany Times Union, Nathan Lebron is seeking the LP line for Governor. Other known prospects include Rich Cooper of Long Island and Chris Edes of Rochester, both long time LP activists.

While this author is very familiar with Lebron, this is the first I’ve heard of his interest in the LP or in running for Governor. He was the GOP candidate for Mayor of Albany in 2009.

This should be interesting.

LeBron could be the ‘poster boy’ for the over-achiever. He has personally overcome numerous disadvantages and I can’t think of a image that better portrays the Libertarian idea of individual initiative and self-responsibility

I believe that a New York Libertarian named Marc Romain is seeking the Libertarian Party of New York’s nomination for Governor as well.

I know Marc Romain well and he has run for office as a Libertarian in the past. (He ran for Congress from his home town of Syracuse.)

He has not advised me of his interest in running for Governor in 2014 but that does not mean he won’t do so between now and April 26.

There will be other candidates as well.

    Should be an interesting Convention.

He told me that he is running.

He might want to communicate that little factoid to someone with a connection with the LPNY.

    Just a suggestion…..
