Independent presidential bids, a third party, and other big changes . . .

Era of Political DisruptionAn article by Ron Fournier, Senior Political Columnist and Editorial Director of the National Journal suggests that “The Era of Political Disruption” is upon us and that “Independent presidential bids, a third party, and other big changes may be just over the midterm horizon.”

Mr. Fournier writes:

“You can now choose any musician’s song from any album, download it instantly and from virtually anywhere on earth for less than the price of a candy bar, and store it on a device with thousands of other tracks from just as many different singers. That’s power. I ask you, how long until Americans recognized (sic) they’re no less equipped to disrupt politics and government?”

    .What a great find, Joe!

I love this power paragraph: “I ask you, how long until Americans recognized they’re no less equipped to disrupt politics and government? How soon before we stop settling for an inferior product in Washington and at statehouses? When do we demand more and better from the Democratic and Republican parties—or create new political organizations that usurp the old?’

I just love citing anything I can add a “sic” to. 🙂 But seriously, IPR is on the brink of being, IMO, recognized as having been ahead of its time — WAY ahead.
