Presidential Candidate Suggests Microchips for Syrian Refugees

Zoltan Istvan

From Eric Mack at CNET:

The question of allowing Syrian refugees in to the United States has created a political firestorm in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Paris and one Presidential candidate proposes a novel, high-tech solution, but it’s also likely to make plenty of Americans uncomfortable.

Transhumanist Party candidate Zoltan Istvan suggests that small microchips could be implanted under the skin of Syrian refugees as part of the process of admitting them into the United States or other countries around the world.

“The procedure takes a minute and is harmless,” Istvan, who recently had a microchip implanted in his own hand to kick off his campaign bus tour, told CNET in an email. “The chip is the size of a grain of rice and could go in the hand and be useful for more than just tracking purposes.”

In an earlier interview with the Broward-Palm Beach New Times, Istvan said chipping refugees could be one way to track them and determine if any might be plotting acts of violence and also monitor who is “contributing to the system — whether they are working, paying taxes or causing strife.”

Istvan clarified to CNET that he doesn’t advocate that refugees be chipped for life.

“Maybe for a duration of three years, and then they’d be given a choice to have it removed by the government if they were deemed safe to the public.”

To whom it may concern If you are going to use an idea be sure to look around to see if anyone else has thought it and posted about it I made this suggestion long ago about the illegal immigrants and issues on that topic Border Management and Illegal immigration
    Let’s deal with it
Ok, so I have said all along I offer solutions and an action plan. Here’s the action plan.
Yes we need to strengthen the Fencing improve technology there are various actions we must take simply because:
The time for deportation is over I know I am going to get some backlash on this but I am open to suggestions and opinions. The right wing hard line Christians may very well not be too happy. So here we go I am looking at the possibility and feasibility of intramuscular implantation of GPS tracking even while incarcerated, so that if the ball gets dropped and someone is released we know within a foot of where they are standing we know exactly where they are. Ok I know the whole chip thing does not sit well but it is plausible. Now for the cost of construction of penal facilities and housing of inmates the funding is derived from the seizure of all illegal activities. Where to build we have thousands of miles of empty desert where escape would surely be futile. No its not going to be club Fed not by any means, if we are to curb this epidemic then we need to send a very clear message we will no longer tolerate it. The end of rewarding states who sponsor sanctuary cities will end. The data each inmate transmits should be available to everyone across the web making cities, communities and neighborhoods safer as a whole. I have given this great thought, weighed out the pros and cons as well as the morality of it, but everyone talks about needing to take some type of affirmative action, well this is my affirmative action. Nope it’s not pretty but if it saves ONE LIFE JUST ONE I can look in the mirror and say it was worth it. If by doing this we divert any life threatening tragedy was it worth it? You tell me!

#?TheZutlerAdministration? ?#?trump? ?#?DonaldTrump? you are worth billions and can afford anything on the planet you want ,hire a private security force and build refugee camps there so they don’t have to come here. You want to be a leader act like one you have the financial means to buy the election spend some of that money on protecting your constituents and Our Citizens here is the opportunity of a life time to show the government has failed or is this all there is talk talk talk Step Up or Step Back you have amassed all these supporters show them what you are made of show your Moxie you have nothing to loose and plenty to gain. Hell you cried you wanted Secret Service to protect you start protecting your Country

#TheZutlerAdministration Here is how it really has to be. We are going to GET RID OF THE UN Revise our stance with the Geneva Convention take the gloves off and take it to them. We will SHOW THEM WHY WE ARE The United States of America. They call us a Super Power for a reason and Together we will show them a force not to be reckoned with. I will DEFEND this Nation as I will be sworn to. We will institute no fly zones where needed and enforce them fiercely. I will put Soldiers on the Ground in numbers large enough to accomplish the mission, utilize every resource and asset available to me, I will work with Russia together we can will and must defeat All terrorist organizations, extremists, Jihadists, GLOBALLY. I will mend the relationships our current leader has so gracefully taken apart. I will reassure those that are our Allies that we will not hesitate but respond Expeditiously. WE CAN MUST AND WILL INVOKE ARTICLE 5 of The NATO TREATY. “We are going to pursue terrorists everywhere (You CAN RUN BUT YOU CAN’T HIDE WE WILL FIND YOU AND EXTERMINATE WITH EXTREME PREDIJUICE. If they are in the airport, we will pursue them in the airport. And if we capture them in the toilet, then we will waste them in the outhouse. “To forgive those that attempt to bring harm to us or disrupt our way of life is up to God, to arrange the meeting, is why I have Special Operators and Special Forces as well as many many dedicated men and women who will ensure the meeting occurs without delay.” The Time has come to show terror to those that attempt to terrorize. AS French President Hollande stated “NO MERCY NO PITY”. When the FBI can’t successfully vette refugees the answer is clear NO REFUGEES some see it as unpopular I see it as the only way to KEEP Our Nation safe. THE ANSWER, IS TO MAKE SYRIA SAFE THAT THEY WON’T NEED TO FLEE FROM but it sets a bad precedence that every time a country has a conflict, comes under attack or worse an evil faction takes hold we simply run and deal with it I think not. We simply have to say NOT HERE, WE HAVE ENOUGH DOMESTIC ISSUES to deal with that are just as pressing. Funny this comes up and I am not downplaying the level of importance to terrorism and extremists but it seems that every issue comes before Vets and The VA and they get put on the Back Burner funny how that happens. We need to realize if we are going to send troops in, we have more vets and we need to make them as much of a priority as any conflict, war, or skirmish we find ourselves involved in. If we do not take care of the vets and pretty quick, we will not have soldiers to protect Our Country.

I’m not sure I agree with the way we sometimes talk about refugees coming to this country. The idea of “taking them in” or “letting them in” as a country suggests we have a collective right to interfere in the migration of people seeking to better their circumstances.

The answer to me seems to be to get away from the collective arguments. I’ve heard over and over again from individuals who would sponsor/host refugees in their own homes if our government would get out of the way. Wouldn’t individual relationships like this address the issues most people have concerns about? People with the most to lose would be the ones vetting those who came to their homes. They would be the front line against terrorists seeking to take advantage of the refugee situation once here and they would be able to help people in the ways most appropriate because it would be specific and not general. -Tina Lou
