Readers considering running for President in 2020 with a Massachusetts party should note there have actually been three paths to getting on the Primary ballot, namely decree of the state party, identification by the Secretary of State that there is significant publicity involving you, or petitioning. In 2000, LPMA under Carla Howell and Eli Israel endeavored not to put Don Gorman on the ballot, then claimed the Secretary of State did everything.

The last Libertarian presidential primary in Massachusetts was in 2004, when the candidates were Gary Nolan, Aaron Russo, Michael Badnarik, Jeffrey Diket, and Ruben Perez. Nolan won.
