Do labels mean anything anymore? Apparently not, especially if you are Wayne Allyn Root…
As I stated in my recent op-ed for The Libertarian Republic, “My focus is not on a party, but on ideas. Partisanship is never about advancing ideas, its about winning.”
A prime example of the hollowness within our political establishments is the Republican Liberty Caucus. A tremendous organization that is the “conscious of the Republican Party”, they have helped boost the liberty movement which gave us Ted Cruz, Justin Amash, and Rand Paul. Recently the RLC made an excellent choice in endorsing Rand Paul for president. In their official press release the RLC stated:
SENATOR PAUL HAS BEEN ONE OF THE STRONGEST VOICES FOR LIBERTY IN THE SENATE, AND HAS CONSISTENTLY OPPOSED GOVERNMENT AB– USE AND THE TRAMPLING OF INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS UNDER THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION. PAUL HAS LED ON EFFORTS FOR SENTENCING REFORM, TO AUDIT THE FEDERAL RESERVE, TO PROTECT THE BILL OF RIGHTS AND TO CONTROL SPENDING. A PRESIDENT PAUL WOULD BE THE STANDARD BEARER FOR THE GOP ON ISSUES LIKE THESE ON THE NATIONAL STAGE.
Paul has stood up for conservative-libertarian values time and time again, just like men such as Ted Cruz have. Both Paul and Cruz have stood and defended the 5 Principles of Libertyconsistently. The RLC is a great organization, but there is a severe issue, the fact that the man who is the chairman of the National Campaign Committee, in charge of helping the RLC boosting pro-liberty candidates, has endorsed Donald J. Trump for president.
That man is former Libertarian Party vice presidential candidate Wayne Allyn Root.
