2002 graduate from Ohio University running for the Libertarian Party nomination for president of the United States said in a recent interview that voters should stop choosing between the lesser of two evils and voter their conscience.
“We’ve been programmed and tricked by the two-party system that you’re wasting your vote if you vote for a third party,” Kevin McCormick said. “In reality, if you go and vote for a third party and it gets 10 percent, 15 percent, 20 percent of the vote, you will see changes in our major political parties.”
McCormick said he first identified himself as a Libertarian in 1996 and has voted Libertarian in every presidential election since.
He grew up in Columbus, he said, and graduated from the J. Warren McClure School of Information and Telecommunications Systems at OU with a bachelor’s degree in communication after four and a half years in Athens.
