Libertarian 2016 Presidential Nomination goes to 2nd ballot

Gary Johnson barely missed a first round win on the first ballot for President at the Libertarian national convention here in Orlando. It now is on second ballot tabulation. McCormick eliminated – the other non-write-ins will all be on 2nd ballot. Write-ins and NOTA will also count, except as I understand it McCormick votes will not count on the second ballot.

Will write in votes for McCormick be counted?

My understanding is that they will not. If I am wrong, what is the point of dropping candidates? We get a blank ballot anyway.

I would agree but why tally ANY write in votes beyond the first ballot?

For the same reason you would tally them on the first ballot. Delegates can change their minds.

Good grief. Is a party with John McAfee himself as a presidential contender really using Windows XP??? Either get on Windows 7 or later, or switch to Linux or Mac.

I could be wrong but I think that would probably be Alicia’s personal computer. She may have several. And some people prefer older versions.

RaiderDuck… So long as it’s not wifi or ethernet connected, and you keep tabs on the USB drives you’re plugging in to it, it’s not that big a deal.
