Libertarian freedom-fighter William N. Grigg passed away suddenly today.

He was 54.

Grigg is survived by his wife Korrin and their six children.  If you value and care about the stalwarts of the libertarian movement, be aware that medical costs and the loss of the family breadwinner will be a hardship — so please consider showing others that Libertarians care about our own – by throwing in a few dollars for the family:

Will Grigg has been in the hospital suffering from the aftermath of a very serious infection. He and his family could use all the help they can get.  Right now, any financial assistance would be greatly appreciated. At the moment, I’m working toward helping make sure the family’s day-to-day expen…

Most of you in this group will have no idea who Will Grigg was, so you might not realize what the world lost, today.  That is a tragedy in itself.  We can all name actors who were ‘popular’ who passed away in the past year — but tireless activists for justice like Grigg are largely unknown.  So let’s explore who he was and what he did to make our world a little bit better.

Let’s start with this: If success in political commentary were based on merit rather than presstitution, Will Grigg would be the most revered pundit in America and Ann Coulter would be working graveyards at Waffle House.

An independent, award-winning investigative journalist and author, Grigg also wrote, co-produced, and was featured in more than a dozen documentaries.
He authored five books, most recently “Liberty in Eclipse: The War on Terror” and “The Rise of the Homeland Security State”, and published the Pro Libertate blog at freedominourtime.blogspot.com.

Grigg was a long-time activist, a great journalist, an uncompromising seeker of justice, a agitator against war and state power, utterly tireless in his pursuit of justice for people abused by the police and others, and otherwise a fearless dragon-slayer.

Grigg exposed injustice often, especially any time it was the unpopular position of defending citizens, both guilty and innocent, who were lied to, beaten, and even murdered by police.  Will believed that shiny badges and magic costumes don’t grant extra rights.

He had recently co-founded The Libertarian Institute with Jared Labell, Scott Horton, and Sheldon Richman, and served as the as the Managing Editor for that organization.

He was an outspoken and tireless defender of individual liberty against the tyranny of statism and police overreach.  Grigg’s articles riled people up, made us cry, made us ashamed of not doing more, but most of all — they made us THINK!!

His crusade could be summed up with one anecdote he wrote about a few years ago: While doing stretches on a public park bench before beginning his morning run, two policemen came up to question what he was doing.  He told them he was preparing to run — which seemed to make them even more suspicious.  So he asked them, in his Grigg style, “Haven’t you ever seen a black man run before?”

Grigg’s heartfelt writings inspired – in many readers – hope and the desire to stand for liberty.

He will be remembered, and missed.

Please don’t forget to stop by the GoFundMe and help out his family: https://www.gofundme.com/medical-support-for-will-grigg
