In a stunning commentary on the results of the 2016 Presidential campaign, participants from both the Republican and Democratic nominating conventions admit they wish they’d listened to the candidates from the other political parties.
“When I see the result of the DNC choosing Hillary as our candidate, I realize maybe Gary Johnson [the Libertarian Party’s Presidential candidate] not knowing of any world leaders he respected wasn’t such a bad thing”, said an anonymous source, who admits to being a delegate at the Democratic convention. “I’m horrified that people voted for an unknown, risky candidate because they couldn’t support our candidate. I didn’t know where Aleppo was, either”.
Marion Karma from the Republican Party said something surprising in an interview with The Daily Dish regarding the Green Party candidate Jill Stein: “I remember laughing with some other RNC staffers over the foreign policy spelled out by Dr. Jill Stein. In retrospect, I realize not increasing murders-by-drone would have been better than what the winner of the 2016 election has imposed on our globe”, wiping a tear from her eye.
When asked if she’ll support other political parties for the 2020 campaign, Ms. Karma said “If we actually survive the next four years and have another presidential campaign, you can bet I’ll look at other options”.
