Joshua Harris: We can win this

In less than three weeks, the people of Baltimore City will head to the polls to cast their votes for the 2018 Midterm Elections (and starting next Thursday for early voting!). My team and I have knocked on thousands of doors in the past 15 months, in the heat, in the pouring rain–nothing is more important than having one-on-one conversations with the neighbors who will be my constituents.… Read more ...

Green candidates barred from debate and polls in midterms protest media bias

Exclusion of candidates violates the right of voters to be informed about all names on the ballot

Green Party candidates have been excluded from debates and polls across the country by news media and polling criteria that favor Democratic and Republican candidates. Exclusion means Green Party candidates cannot make their case to undecided voters or try to sway decided ones, which is especially crucial in races that determine ballot status.… Read more ...

Green-Rainbow Candidate, Jamie Guerin, Barred from Participating in WGBH Debate for State Treasurer

October 10, 2018 – Today’s State Treasurer debate will be missing a key voice from a balloted candidate, that of Jamie Guerin, a long-time activist and Green-Rainbow Partymember. Her “Why not invest in ourselves?” platform offers a concrete plan for reducing interest expenses on infrastructure projects, creating a socially just state investment program; a state bank, and eliminating corporate and Wall Street influence in Massachusetts politics.… Read more ...

Bowser-Bostick’s Statement on Exclusion from Debate

On Saturday, October 6, Pittsburgh’s WPXI-TV held a partial Pennsylvania Lt. Governor’s debate in their studio. This face-to-face meeting of candidates was incomplete because it excluded half of the candidates. WPXI-TV undemocratically limited the political education that voters need and deserve to elect their next Governor & Lt. Governor by excluding the only two female and non-major-party candidates who have legally qualified to be on the General Election Ballot.… Read more ...

Maine Green Independent Party Finds Susan Collins’ Vote Profoundly Disturbing

The Maine Green Independent Party (MGIP) is deeply disappointed in Senator Susan Collins’ choice to support Brett Kavanaugh’s election to the Supreme Court. We feel Kavanaugh’s record, temperament and bias render him unfit to serve, and the credible allegations against him of sexual assault and aggression only strengthen that assessment. Senator Collins’ willingness to disregard those allegations is profoundly distrubing.… Read more ...

Howie Hawkins: Working Families Party caves once again

The only vote left for progressives and socialists is the Green Party ticket after the Working Families Party once again nominated Andrew Cuomo.

The WFPers who worked for Cynthia Nixon’s campaign, and the progressive Democrats who voted for her, will find that it is Green Party’s platform that calls for real solutions to the problems we face, from the climate emergency to the growing concentration of wealth in the hands of the 1% that leaves many of us in the 99% struggling for living-wage jobs, affordable housing, on-time transit, good schools, and adequate health care.… Read more ...
