Cannabis is in the air – or in the news a lot lately, as states continue to legalize, decriminalize and medicinalize the plant.

Last week, Senators Cory Booker, Rand Paul, and Kirsten Gillbrand introduced the first-ever bill in the US Senate to legalize cannabis for medical use.Read more ...

It has just come to my attention that William A. Chengelis, a.k.a., “Wayward Bill”, acting President of the U.S. Marijuana Party has been detained in Washington, D.C.

Apparently, per Jeffrey Kabik he was arrested following a handing out of a sampling of medibles.… Read more ...

Steve Kubby: Liberty, Leadership and Libertarianism

We live in an unfree world that desperately needs our Libertarian principles of free choice, free markets and free minds.   Unfortunately, we have been competing in election campaigns against the major parties in what can best be described as the equivalent of entering NASCAR racing events — with pathetic little peddle cars. … Read more ...

Steve Kubby – The Next Marijuana Voter Initiative

The Next Marijuana Voter Initiative
by Steve Kubby

Now that California has made possession of an ounce of cannabis the equivalent of a $100 parking ticket, our best best is to pass a similar voter initiative for personal cultivation and sales.  Growing and selling cannabis would still be illegal, but the penalty for possessing or selling under a pound or growing less than 25 plants would be a $100 fine and a citation.… Read more ...

What do a retired Superior Court Judge, a well-known 70s comic-actor, and a rock musician running for California State Senate have in common?

From the Galysh campaign:

All three support Proposition 19, also known as the Regulate, Control and Tax Cannabis Act of 2010. It legalizes various marijuana-related activities, allows local governments to regulate these activities, permits local governments to impose and collect marijuana-related fees and taxes, and authorizes various criminal and civil penalties.… Read more ...

Kubby qualifies for November Ballot

Email from Steve Kubby:

The South Lake Tahoe City Clerk just called me to officially notify me that I have qualified as a candidate for City Council. I’ll be running against ten other candidates, which is good, because it will seriously split the good old boy vote. Furthermore, since this is a minor election with a small turn out and if our pro-cannabis voters all show up, as I think they will, we will have the biggest share of votes.… Read more ...

Darryl Perry: ‘California’s Proposition 19: Yes We Cannabis’

By Darryl W. Perry
Chair, Boston Tea Party National Committee:

This fall Californians will be able to vote to completely legalize the herb commonly called “marijuana”. NBC Los Angeles reports the “California Chamber of Commerce on Thursday released a legal analysis that claims Proposition 19 would lead to more workplace accidents by forcing employers to let workers smoke pot on the job.” The California Chamber of Commerce website states, “If this measure were approved, employers, including the State of California, would be faced with the burden of proving that an employee who tests positive for marijuana is “actually impaired” from performing the job before taking any adverse action against the employee.… Read more ...

Cannabis Medicines Could Save Millions of Lives
by Steve Kubby

Millions of people die each year from diseases that could be largely prevented or minimized by cannabinoid medicines.

The science is irrefutable. We now have thousands of peer-reviewed, scientific studies that have emerged and clearly show how cannabinoids can be used to treat, reverse and even prevent many of our worst diseases.… Read more ...
