Medea Benjamin’s Gaza activities make news

The Christian Science Monitor tells today of an international group of over 1,000 activists seeking to enter Gaza via Egypt to deliver supplies to the blockaded region on the anniversary of Israel’s most recent offensive there. Despite coordinating with the Egyptian government in advance, their plans have been impeded:

Former Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney Barred From South Africa Trip

News 24 in South Africa is reporting that Cynthia McKinney was abruptly removed from a flight to South Africa, where she was to be a speaker at the Palestinian Struggle and Human Spirit Film Festival:

Cape Town – A controversial former member of the American congress and a 2008 [Green Party] presidential candidate, Cynthia McKinney, was abruptly removed from a South African Airways flight on Tuesday.

Tuesday, July 14th: Demonstration at Egyptian Embassy called by Cynthia McKinney and George Galloway

Cynthia McKinney was the 2008 Green Party candidate for President. McKinney has been working with groups trying to bring humanitarian aid to Gaza.
