Will There Soon Be A Libertarian Party Of Poland?

The answer to that question increasingly seems to be yes. The Facebook page for the movement to create a Libertarian Party in Poland (Partia Libertariańska) has already garnered over 4,300 likes. Currently Poland has a party called Kongres Nowej Prawicy (Congress of the New Right) which promotes classical liberalism. They have garnered over 29,000 Facebook likes, and in the 2011 parliamentary elections in Poland secured over 151,000 votes, or 1.06% (interestingly enough, this was the same percentage of the vote the LPUS got in the U.S.… Read more ...

Green Party: With Osama bin Laden’s Death, Rapid Withdrawal from Afghanistan

Green Party leaders on Monday expressed hope that news of the killing of Osama bin Laden marks a new stage, in which US troops are withdrawn from Iraq and Afghanistan; air assaults on Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Libya are halted; the US presses Israel to observe full human rights and justice for the Palestinian people; and violations of domestic civil liberties are overturned.

More dramatic still: at least one new poll, released late Thursday, shows him likely to win the presidency in a second-round vote on June 20.

Mockus had a 50-44 percent second-round lead over former Defense Minister Juan Manuel Santos in the new poll by the Centro Nacional de Consultoria polling firm.

UK Green Party: ‘Clegg’s no Green’

The Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg, whose party is enjoying a dramatic surge in support, has come under attack from the Green Party for promoting the Liberal Democrats as the environmental option in the election…

The spokesperson insisted that, “There is only one Green Party”.

Clegg said that the Liberal Democrat plan would create 30,000 jobs through the use of £3.1 billion that could be saved from public spending and invested in wind energy, energy efficiency in public buildings and bringing empty homes back into use through renovation

But the Greens say that their own “fully-costed job creation plan” would use a £44 billion investment package that would create a million new jobs across the UK.
