Libertarian Party of Kentucky Sees Spike In Membership Numbers

Between May 22nd, 2012 and April 16th, 2013, the LPKY saw a significant jump in voter registration totals. The numbers speak for themselves:

Statewide registration increased 2.50%

Democrat registration increased 1.22%
Republican registration increased 3.59%
Generic “Other” registration increased 1.63%
Independent registration increased 24.20%
All other parties except Libertarian increased 25.84%
Libertarian registration increased 40.83%

The State Board of Elections didn’t track voters registered as Libertarian until January 1, 2006.

KY GOP Continues to Attack Republican Candidates Who Sign Libertarian Petition

We previously reported that the Kentucky GOP Chairman had requested Republican candidate for Governor Phil Moffett remove his name from the petition for Libertarian Ken Moellman, running for Treasurer. However, it now appears Moffett was not the only Republican candidate involved in this controversy.

Republican John T. Kemper III has asked that his name be removed from a campaign petition for a Libertarian candidate.

Libertarian Party Chairman Pushes For Change In County Government

Ken Moellman is the Libertarian Party of Kentucky Chairman, as well as a frequent commenter here at Independent Political Report. This blog post from Cincinatti.com reports that Moellman is part of an effort to change the county government in Campbell County, Kentucky.

Libertarians and Republicans are banding together in Campbell County to try and change the structure of county government.
