Larry Sharpe Breaks 50K – Ballot Access for Libertarians in New York

Libertarian NY Governor candidate Larry Sharpe broke the 50K vote barrier in New York State handily. At this writing he has nearly 86,000 votes with 95% of precincts reporting so he could break 90K. He’s running about 1.6% of the vote, not far behind Howie Hawkins of the Green Party who is at 1.66% with 90,000 votes at this writing.… Read more ...

Sharpe NY Campaign Finance Update

Larry Sharpe’s campaign has filed their 11-day pre-general campaign finance report. In the first three weeks of October the campaign raised another $73,000 and spent $65,000, closing with $32,000 in cash on hand.

The largest sums were spent on consultants and lawn signs, with campaign manager Brian Waddell receiving nearly $7000.… Read more ...

The Larry Sharpe campaign reported raising nearly $140,000 in its 32-day pre-general campaign finance filing. The report covers a period of a little over two months. Sharpe is the Libertarian candidate for Governor of New York.

Warren Redlich was the 2010 Libertarian candidate for Governor of New York. He occasionally drops in with articles like this that don’t really fit with IPR’s usual approach but he gets away with it because he owns IPR.

A recent article in Newsday mentioned NY Libertarian Governor candidate Larry Sharpe:

Sharpe, a businessman, consultant and former Marine who lives in New York City, points to fundraising (he’s raised more than $100,000) and the 2016 election, in which Libertarian presidential candidate Gary Johnson got 176,000 votes in New York, as reasons for optimism.
