Green Party in Rochester, NY reviewing multiple applications for mayoral candidacy

From the City Newspaper:

The Green Party of Monroe County has received “several” applications from people interested in running for Rochester mayor on the Green Party line, says party co-chair Scott Brant. Citing confidentiality and respect for the applicants, Brant would not give a specific number. He did say that he is “thoroughly impressed” by the quality of the applicants…

With little risk, I think we can assume that two of the applicants are likely former Mayor Bill Johnson and Rochester businessman Alex White.

Local businessman seeks Green Party endorsement in bid for mayor of Rochester, NY

Monroe County, NY Green Party elects officers

With the Green Party ballot-qualified statewide and the county party in the process of deciding a mayoral candidate, the Green Party of Monroe County, New York has elected new officers:

Vinessa Buckland and Scott Brant are co-chairs.

Buckland is a recent State University College at Brockport graduate and is on the board of the Genesee Valley Civil Liberties Union.

From the Rochester City Newspaper:

The Green Party became an officially recognized political party in New York on Monday – the day state officials certified the results of the November election. The Greens’ gubernatorial candidate, Howie Hawkins, received more than 50,000 votes, which was enough for the party to gain official recognition.
