MT: Green Party sues for inclusion in special congressional election

Per Missoula’s KGVO radio news:

39 year-old Thomas Breck of Missoula is the Green Party candidate for the Congressional seat vacated by Ryan Zinke, who was recently confirmed as Secretary of the Interior.

Breck, the father of three, is a carpenter and a student at the University of Montana. He explains why the Green Party has had to sue to be included on the special election ballot set for May 25.

Montana Green Party holds first statewide convention in 10 years

The Montana Green Party held its first statewide convention in 10 years Saturday at the University of Montana’s Payne Family Native American Center, where party supporters appointed committee members, elected a candidate for the upcoming special election and heard from Green Party 2016 presidential nominee Jill Stein via Skype.

With the Presidential vote in, it looks like Gary Johnson failed to be a “spoiler” for either Romney or Obama in a single state. Complete returns from Florida may change that, but in every other state either Obama or Romney won with at least 50% of the vote.

Montana Poll from PPP Shows Libertarians Scoring 6-10% in Statewide Races

PPP has been polling the presidential race, and others, in various states over the previous weeks and has finally arrived at Montana. In Montana they polled the Presidential, Senate, and House race–and included the Libertarian Party candidate in each.

When Gary Johnson is included in the poll he gets 6% with Romney leading Obama 50-40.

Gary Johnson Polling at 8% in Montana

Gary Johnson was recently found to have been polling at 15% in his home-state in New Mexico. However, now the same polling company has conducted a survey which says he is polling at 8% in Montana too.

The poll asked: “If the candidates for President this fall were Democrat Barack Obama, Republican Mitt Romney, and Libertarian Gary Johnson, who would you vote for?”
