Grassroots Ron Paul supporters organize “Rock The rEVOLution Tour”

Inspired by Ron Paul’s quote that “I always knew that if you were going to have a revolution you needed two things, young people and music”, some of the libertarian Republican presidential candidate’s supporters have launched a multi-city benefit tour featuring pro-freedom bands, musicians, rappers, and libertarian speakers.

Zak Carter, the main promoter who has been organizing the tour, said at the San Francisco show tonight, the fourth of the tour, that he has plunged into this project with little experience.… Read more ...

Occupy movement shows significant pro-freedom leanings

I went by the Occupy San Francisco camp outside the Federal Reserve building at 101 Market Street yesterday. This thing is really going strong. Although it was late at night, there were maybe 30-40 people camped there, many sleeping, some sitting around talking, etc. Lots of signs, fliers, books, materials, free food that supporters have dropped off, etc.… Read more ...

LP of San Francisco: Libertarians Support Middle East Freedom Uprisings

By Starchild at LPSF.org:

BeStrongEgypt4hAs in 1989-1990, when the Berlin Wall came down and former vassal states and imprisoned peoples in the U.S.S.R. were declaring their independence in rapid succession, it is clear that we are witnessing a momentous historical shift in the Middle East. Since the Soviet empire’s collapse, this has been the region of the world most dominated by authoritarian regimes — many of them, sadly, supported by the United States government.

Fuzzy Math in Tony Hall’s Path To San Francisco Mayor

San Francisco is famous for its left-wing politics. So how does a Tony Hall, a moderate/conservative/libertarianish candidate eke out a win in the city’s mayoral contest?

Many races in San Francisco become pitched battles between moderates and progressives, sometimes contributing to a theme of ‘establishment’ versus insurgent. Hall seems to be angling primarily for insurgent status, creating a David versus Goliath situation to rally voters to his cause.… Read more ...

San Francisco Libertarian Activist Starchild at Protest of Solidarity with the People of Egypt

San Francisco Libertarian Activist Starchild attended a protest of solidarity with the people of Egypt. The protest took place Saturday, February 5, and took place at United Nations Plaza in San Francisco. Starchild’s rough estimate is perhaps three or four hundred people were present. Starchild writes:

I encourage people to get these and similar images up on as many Libertarian and libertarian sites as possible, including LP.org, for LNC members who — unlike ordinary Libertarian Party members, shamefully — are the only ones currently able to post content to our national party website.
