The Americans Elect web page now says the group has obtained 1,903,444 signatures on petitions to get on the ballot, so far. This contrasts with the figure of three weeks ago, which was 1,829,264.

Connecticut Ballot Access Bill

Connecticut Senator Andrew Maynard (D-Stonington) has introduced Proposed Bill 778, which cuts the number of signatures for statewide and U.S. House candidates, in the general election, down to 1,000 signatures. Current law requires 7,500 signatures for statewide candidates, and signatures equal to 1% for U.S. House candidates, which is always close to 3,000 signatures in midterm years and 2,400 in presidential years.… Read more ...

Illinois Green, the only competition on the ballot, faces signature challenge in school board race

Berwyn, IL —Rita Maniotis knew that running a campaign for school board in Morton High School District 201 would be  difficult, but she didn’t anticipate a legal fight just to get on the ballot.

Paul Nosek of Berwyn and Alejandro Rueda of Cicero have filed a formal objection to Maniotis’ nominating papers and thrown her candidacy into legal limbo.

NH: Libertarian Babiarz polling 2%

Concord Monitor:

In the final WMUR/UNH election poll, 49 percent of likely voters say they will vote for Lynch, 41 percent prefer Stephen, 2 percent favor Libertarian John Babiarz, 1 percent prefer some other candidate, and 7 percent are undecided.

The poll was conducted by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center, which interviewed 885 randomly selected New Hampshire likely voters between Oct.

Constitution Party Will Sue to Get on Illinois Ballot

The Constitution Party of Illinois expects to file a lawsuit on September 1 to get its statewide slate of candidates on the Illinois ballot. Illinois requires 25,000 valid signatures.
