Dave Schwab at Green Party Watch:
Massachusetts Green-Rainbow Party gubernatorial candidate Jill Stein has set a goal of raising $125,000 by mid-September. Once Stein raises at least $125,000, her campaign is eligible for 1-to-1 matching funds. Here is an email she recent sent to supporters:
This is just a quick note to update you on our ongoing signature drive, and ask for your support as we start the transition into the final 100 days of the campaign – things are about to dramatically accelerate. For starters, we are ramping up fund raising to reach $125,000 in contributions before the middle of September. That would qualify us for another $125,000 of public matching funds, and suddenly we’d be running a quarter of a million dollar campaign! It would also solidify our place in the televised debates, since it would be make it all the more difficult to exclude the ONLY publicly funded candidate in the race!
Check out my appearance on WRKO’s “Tom & Todd Show” for a taste of what it will sound like to have a well-funded outsider in the governor’s race! There really is no time to lose, so let’s take the future into our own hands and make it happen! Please read on for things you can do…
Signature drive nearing completion – no time to rest!
Thanks to the efforts of dozens upon dozens of committed activists around the state, we are on target to qualify all of our statewide candidates for the ballot. Reaching our signature-gathering goal is only part of the process, however. We still have to submit the petitions to the local city and town halls across the Commonwealth, and then get them delivered to the Secretary of State’s office by mid-August. Much work is still required, so please contact our Field Director, Omar Boukili at email@example.com, for details on how to turn in your signatures or help with the follow-up.
Jill takes on the “Business as Usual Beacon Hill Boys Club”
Jill appeared on the “Tom & Todd Show” on WRKO last week, and made a strong case for her being included in the upcoming debates. Take a listen and decide for yourself. If you’re interested in being part of the team that makes sure Jill Stein gets a chance to debate the three business-as-usual candidates in 2010, please contact Patrick Keaney (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Grassroots fundraisers needed!
Do you think you have five friends who would give $50 to Jill’s campaign if you asked them to? Or ten friends who’d give $10? Our campaign is showing that change can happen at the grassroots – in fact, it’s the only place real change ever emerges from. And our fundraising has to happen the same way – people deciding that if they want change, they have to work for it, and pay for it. If you’re interested in getting involved in our campaign as a grassroots fundraiser, please contact Patrick Keaney (email@example.com) about joining our team.
