Haven’t followed Jake Towne’s Independent candidacy for the PA-15 congressional seat very consistently? Never fret; the candidate gets the news roundup of the night.
- Towne participated in the first debate of the race on Monday the 13th. Two local newspapers provided front-page coverage of the event, also featuring Democrat John Callahan and incumbent Republican Charlie Dent. Towne focused on his fiscal conservatism, anti-war views, and critique of the two-party system. Footage from the event can be found here. The campaign will be participating in at least seven more debates; the full schedule can be found here.
- Towne also held a moneybomb yesterday to raise funds for radio advertising. That effort drew in $2,220. The campaign projects that each radio ad will cost about ~$30 to air.
- In less positive news, the campaign lost its headquarters recently due to zoning complications. The candidate shrugs off this setback, saying, “Fortunately, the campaign has plenty of practice with running the campaign from the insides of cars and internet cafes.”
