Florida Tea Party responds to State of the State address

Press release emailed to IPR:

“I was pleased with the tone and subjects covered by the Governor. We strongly support Governor Scott’s efforts to bring the state budget under control and be on the side of the taxpayers of Florida.”

“Governor Scott will have a tough fight on his hands to overcome the forces of special interests to implement his bold initiatives. We will do what we can to back up his agenda when it comes to less taxes; less government and more individual freedom.”

What’s the point of being in a mid-major party if you support a Republican agenda? Particularly for the leaders. Praise them when their right, but at least use your press release to differentiate yourself or hold them to account in some way.

And I ask this as on who is transpartisan, in fact I registered Republican to support Ron Paul and stayed that way to help his supporters achieve their goals of advancing and influencing that party. At the same time, I kept my LP membership and voted for their candidates when I had the chance, but I wouldn’t seek a leadership position there because I’m loyal to the ends not the means.

    Agreed.

The ironic thing here is that the other faction of the Tea Parties in Florida is accusing these folks of being Democrats in disguise.
