REF: LENEXA, KS VOTES TO ALLOW OPEN CARRY

Tuesday evening June 18th, 2013 the city council of Lenexa unanimously voted to allow the open carry of loaded firearms by law abiding citizens on property open to the public.

The Libertarian Party of Kansas is proud to have worked with city officials to help make this possible. We appreciate the city council having the courage to change their weapons ordinance to comply with the Kansas constitution and state statutes.

Even though Lenexa has changed their weapons ordinances there are still municipalities in Kansas denying their citizens 2nd Amendment rights.

A new group, Johnson County Open Carry will be filing a civil suit within weeks against the cities of Leawood and Prairie Village for completely banning the open carry of loaded firearms.
