Senator Angus King Express Support for Immigration Reform Bill

Maine senator Angus King is one of two independent member of the U.S. Senate, along with Bernie Sanders of Vermont. However, for organizational purposes, he caucuses with the Democratic Party. King served as governor of Maine as an independent from 1995 until 2003, and was only the second governor in the state’s history to be non affiliated with any political party. On June 20th, he took to the senate floor to speak in support of the immigration reform bill being crafted by a group of senators known as the “Gang of 8”, which includes Chuck Schumer, John McCain and Marco Rubio, among others.
