Bismarck Tribune: North Dakota Libertarian Party sees momentum in 2016

Heading today into a joint North Dakota and South Dakota Libertarian Party convention in Mandan, state party leaders say their momentum is taking them into uncharted territory as national frustration mounts with the two major political parties.

In the 2014 November election, the North Dakota Libertarian Party for the first time secured enough votes to gain party recognition on the June primary ballot.

“I’m very optimistic. I think we’ll probably do better than we ever have in the history of North Dakota,” said Roland Riemers, chairman of the North Dakota Libertarian Party, adding that the party has been working 15 to 20 years to gain ballot status.
