Roughly: The fight over the credentials report was maybe an hour and a half. The fight over the agenda was the other three and a half hours.

The chair (correctly) ruled that this is a convention and that therefore the agenda order mandated by the party’s bylaws and convention rules is the default, requiring 2/3 to suspend the rules to amend.

There were fights, appeals of the rulings of the chair, etc. over all that as the “LNC compromise, because bylaws are only important when we LIKE them” clique tried to bully the delegates into believing either

    1) that the convention isn’t a convention; or

    2) that LNC “compromise” trumped the convention rules and that it was the delegates’ duty to STFU and do as they were told by their LNC masters.

Mixed with frequent screeching at the chair for being a Big Ol’ Meanie for standing up for the delegates’ rights, of course.

The delegates repeatedly made it clear to the “LNC compromise, because bylaws are only important when we LIKE them” clique that they weren’t going to be pushed around — and then adopted the “two sittings, second in Orlando” agenda anyway. The “LNC compromise, because bylaws are only important when we LIKE them” clique could have had its way a good two hours quicker if they had just trusted the delegates instead of 1) trying to lord it over everyone and 2) trying unsuccessfully to discommode, remove, censure, or otherwise sully the image of the chair.
