Matt Reichel, Green Party candidate for Congress, ‘moneybomb’ on Sept. 30

The following reminder of a long-planned moneybomb – an idea popularized by Ron Paul supporters in which supporters all donate on one day – was sent to supporters of the Matt Reichel campaign for Congress:

Dear Supporter

Just three days to go to the big Reichel Money Bomb and joint fundraiser/Campaign Launch with Green Party superstar, Rich Whitney!

Wednesday, September 30th

7:00pm

The Globe Pub, 1934 W. Irving Park, Chicago

We need your help promoting this event:

  1. Forward this email to progressive or political listservs throughout the state of Illinois or forward it to your entire address book.
  2. Convince ten friends to attend Wednesday and another 5 to donate $50 online at www.mattreichel.us to the Reichel Money Bomb.
  3. If you haven’t already pledged to give to the money bomb, sign up on Facebook here, or reply to this email announcing your tendency to give.
  4. Help flier: We will be at the Irving Park Brown Line stop at 7am Monday-Wednesday, and afternoons (5pm) at Western Brown Line on Monday-Tuesday. Email if you are interested in helping!

I look forward to meeting with everyone Wednesday evening, and I look forward to continuing to work with you to elect America’s first Green Congressman right here in Illinois’s 5th Congressional District.

Solidarity,

Matt Reichel

If Reichel raises over $5,000 in the third quarter of the fiscal year, he will be required to report his fundraising to the FEC.  His goal with the moneybomb is to reach that point.

I farted near an open mike. Does that count?

Ross, up to you and Trent, I don’t care much either way really, but in the future please try to add some kind of new information when posting an article.

    Ron Paul moneybombsw=more GOP $, less progressive-libertarian alliance $.

Ross Levin, It’s ok to repeat. So do not delete. My comments are far more important than the articles anyway.

If they are the only third party candidate on their ballot, it won’t matter. They will still lose. Unless they Declare. That could change the dynamic-the green bloc would become inclusive and add the libertarian bloc.

Ross Levin, @5, who are you addressing, me? Sure I’d call if I thought anyone would answer.

paulie – eh, I guess not. Should I delete it?

Have you tried calling them? Have you considered that they may actually be the only third party candidate running in their races (as Reichel was last time he ran, I’m not sure about Whitney), so they’ve got the third party vote locked up?

The only new info worth reporting would be if they declared they support The Progressive Libertarian Alliance Strategy. All Ron Paul’s moneybombs didn’t change the prediction that he would not because he could not win one single GOP primary. Reichel & Whitney will lose. Unless they try the Strategy. Then they could win.

    Is there new info?

This was just a kind of update on that. I wanted to post it again since it’s closer to the moneybomb. If you think I should take it down, I will.
