With the conclusion of the 2020 Green National Convention, the party released the following statement about its nomination of Howie Hawkins for President and Angela Walker for Vice President.

Former Yungstown Board Member and current Green Party runner-up Dario Hunter, released a statement decrying alleged favoritism within the Green Party in favor of presumptive nominee Howie Hawkins. Jesse Ventura Officially Declares He Will Not Run for President in 2020

Former Governor of Minnesota Jesse Ventura declared he will not run for president in 2020 after “testing the waters” for a run with the Green Party.  He made the announcement Friday during a press conference at the headquarters for the Green Party of Minnesota in Minneapolis.

Howie Hawkins and Dario Hunter Split Delegates in Wisconsin

In the Green Party’s Wisconsin primary last week, union leader and longtime Green activist and party co-founder Howie Hawkins split the state’s available four delegates with former Youngstown Board of Education member Dario Hunter.  Each candidate received two.

2020 Green National Convention to Take Place in Cyberspace

As reported at Ballot Access News, the Green Party has decided to move its 2020 national convention from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan to the virtual world.  The originally scheduled dates of July 9 through July 12 remain in place for the event.

This comes as Wayne State University says it will not be able to accommodate the party in light of the coronavirus pandemic that has put most of the nation on lockdown since mid-March.… Read more ...

Jesse Ventura Dispels Rumors about 2020 Green Party Presidential Bid

Erroneous reports yesterday suggested former Minnesota governor Jesse Ventura had filed an intent to run for President as a member of the Green Party.  Ventura has taken to Twitter to dispel the rumors:

Howie Hawkins Wins Texas Primary

The Green Party of Texas held a primary today using approval voting.  Longtime Green Party activist and co-founder Howie Hawkins won with 80 percent approval, more than double his nearest opponent. The result earns Hawkins 20 of Texas’ 26 delegates up for grabs in the primary.
