Yesterday, after supporters of President Donald Trump breached the Capitol building in protest of the Electoral College certification in progress, the Twitter account of the Libertarian Party tweeted the following:
This is not patriotism. This is not protesting. This is reprehensible violence and aggression and needs to stop now. We hope safety for all those who work in the Capitol.
Former Congressman Bob Barr, the Libertarian Party’s 2008 presidential nominee, and former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson, the Libertarian Party’s 2012 and 2016 presidential nominee, each reacted to the breach of the Capitol building today.
Bob Barr tweeted:
Whatever it was that the rioters at the U.S. Capitol were trying to accomplish today was seriously set back by the idiocy of their actions.
