Merlin Miller is a political activist and independent filmmaker, known for directing the 2000 film “Jericho.” He was the 2012 presidential nominee of the nationalist American Third Position Party (now American Freedom Party), receiving a total of 2,713 votes. Notably, during the 2012 campaign he met with Iran’s then-President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

My political rupture with AIPAC occurred over a vote for military aid to Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Israel. This legislative package of aid was put together by the White House primarily to shore up support for Sadat in the Middle East. AIPAC opposed the package and hoped to muster enough congressional opposition to pressure the White House to stop the military aid package to Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

Antiwar.com reports that Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin met with leaders of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) yesterday afternoon to address some concerns the Isreali lobby had about her candidacy.
