American Shopping Party Shopping for a Presidential Candidate, Favors Jason Momoa

A couple days ago, Ballot Access News reported that the American Shopping Party (ASP), which has ballot access in Hawaii, is considering nominating a presidential ticket of businessman Rocky De La Fuente for president and entertainer Kanye West for vice president.  This is the same ticket the American Independent Party (AIP) nominated for the California ballot last month. Read more ...

AIP Nominates Rocky De La Fuente/Kanye West Ticket; Darcy Richardson Responds

Earlier today the California ballot-qualified American Independent Party (AIP) nominated Reform Party and Alliance Party presidential nominee Rocky De La Fuente for president and rapper Kanye West for vice president.  According to Ballot Access News, the decision was unanimous save for one abstention among twenty delegates.   Even though Prohibition Party presidential nominee Phil Collins had won the party’s nonbinding presidential primary in March, De La Fuente, who finished second in the primary, paid AIP vice chairman Mark Seidenberg cash, according to FEC records, which likely improved his chances of winning the nomination.… Read more ...

Jim Hedges Provides an Update on Prohibition Party Ballot Access Efforts

Last week, Jim Hedges, the vice chairman of the Prohibition Party and the party’s 2016 presidential nominee provided the following update on the ballot access efforts for the party’s 2020 ticket of Phil Collins for President and Billy Joe Parker for Vice President:

Prohibition Party Provides Update on Ballot Access

The latest issue of The National Prohibitionist, the official publication of the Prohibition Party, provides the following update on ballot access for the party’s presidential ticket:

There is hardly anyone on sidewalks and
in other traditional places for petitioning.
Going door-to-door exposes both the peti-
tioners and the residents to germs picked
up elsewhere.

Super Tuesday: Phil Collins Leading California’s AIP Presidential Primary

No. Not that Phil Collins . . .

The Prohibition Party’s 2020 presidential nominee Phil Collins is leading the American Independent Party (AIP) Presidential Primary, held on Super Tuesday, with 32.8 percent of the vote.

Not all the votes have been counted, but according to the California Secretary of State website, the current tally is:

  • Don Blankenship – 7,197 votes (19.5%)
  • Phil Collins – 12,097 votes (32.8%)
  • Roque “Rocky” De La Fuente – 7,815 votes (21.2%)
  • Charles Kraut – 4,431 votes (12.0%)

American Independent Party Nominee Inaugurated as President

Today, Chief Justice John Roberts administered the presidential oath of office to businessman Donald Trump, the 2016 presidential nominee of the American Independent Party (AIP) (platform).  Trump was also the nominee of the Republican Party.

The AIP placed Trump on the ballot in California, where he received 4,483,810 votes (31.49%), his third largest statewide total after Texas and Florida.  … Read more ...

CA AIP to Nominate Donald Trump for President

According to J.R. Myers, founder and chairman of the Alaska Constitution Party, a source from within the California American Independent Party (CA AIP) reports that the Party has decided to nominate Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump for president.

As Ballot Access News reported last month, Trump likely won the CA AIP’s June primary through write-in votes, though such votes were not officially counted.… Read more ...

Tom Hoefling is the America’s Party candidate for president. Hoefling previously sought the Constitution Party’s presidential nomination earlier this year, but did not succeed in his endeavor. According to Wikipedia, Hoefling is on the ballot in Arkansas, California (under the American Independent Party label) and Florida, for total access to 90 electoral votes. Read more ...

Though most of the media attention of the June 7 California primary focused on the Democratic and Republican races, with Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump winning each, respectively, the Peace and Freedom Party, the Green Party, the Libertarian Party, and the American Independent Party (AIP) all held primaries as well, owing to the fact that each has attained the status of political party in the state; a designation reserved for parties that can show they have registered members totaling greater than 0.33% of registered voters in the state, and maintained with either keeping registered voters at that percentage or holding 0.067% of registered voters while winning at least two percent of the vote in a statewide election.… Read more ...
