Update on Candidates for the Green Party Presidential Nomination

Green Party Watch held a presidential poll with the following results:

1,792 votes cast, Jill Stein received 1,223 of them, or 68%. Roseanne Barr, who had just entered the race in the last week, picked up 526 votes, or 29%. There were 35 votes for Kent Mesplay, and 8 votes for Harley Mikkelson

GPW reports that Roseanne Barr is very active on Twitter, and had tweeted a challenge to Bill Maher, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert to have both herself and Jill Stein on their programs.… Read more ...

Green Carl Romanelli Sues Pennsylvania State Employees Who Worked on his 2006 Petition Challenge

On July 12, Carl Romanelli, Green Party nominee for U.S. Senate in 2006, filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court against the state employees who worked on challenging his petition while they were supposed to be working on state business. Green Party garners reaction across PA from natural gas protests

Yesterday, local Green Parties and Greens across Pennsylvania participated in protests against natural gas drilling in the state.  There was a protest at each regional Department of Environmental Protection, including one in the state capital, Harrisburg.  A press release announcing the protests can be found here.

Carl Romanelli was charged over $80,000 for daring to run for US Senate in Pennsylvania. That cost was a result of Democrat Bob Casey Jr.’s successful effort to keep Romanelli off the ballot.
