Ohio Green Dennis Spisak Declares for Governor

Ballot Access News:

On November 24, Dennis Spisak said that he will seek the Green Party’s nomination for Governor of Ohio. He was the party’s nominee in 2010, and he polled 1.52% in a four-party race. It is very likely that the Green Party will intervene in the pending Libertarian Party lawsuit, arguing that the new ballot access law cannot be applied for the 2014 election.

Dennis Spisak Calls for Inclusive OH Gubernatorial Debates

Cincinatti’s CityBeat has provided a soapbox for Green gubernatorial candidate Dennis Spisak to speak out on the recent decision to exclude minor party candidates from two upcoming televised debates. At the present time, only Democrat Ted Strickland and Republican John Kasich will participate. The article quotes Spisak as saying,

As the Green Party nominee for Ohio governor, I think it’s a sham that myself and the Libertarian candidate for governor are not invited to the debates,” Spisak said in a prepared statement.

Ohio Green U.S. House candidate wants spot on ballot

Dennis Spisak, the Green candidate in Ohio’s Sixth U.S. House District, filed as a write-in candidate but is now “demanding his name be printed on the ballot due to a recent ruling regarding the Green Party,” the Salem News reports.

Spisak “cited a federal court ruling Tuesday which said Cynthia McKinney had the right to be placed on the Ohio ballot as a presidential candidate for the Green Party because of a previous ruling which allowed Libertarian candidates to be placed on the ballot.”… Read more ...
