Libertarian N.C. county commissioner candidate racks up major endorsements

Jason Bateman, Libertarian candidate for Mecklenburg (N.C.) county commissioner has picked up two major endorsement. Creative Loafing Charlotte an alternative newspaper, and MeckPAC, a non-partisan lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender political action committee are both backing him.

Bateman received MeckPAC’s highest level of recommendation for his support and dedication to achieving equality and promoting liberty for the citizens of Mecklenburg County.… Read more ...

“Don’t waste your vote” is a refrain which independent, third party voters hear frequently, and the impact it has on those considering a third party vote is interesting. It demonstrates the dichotomy which frequently occurs between logic and ethics. Constitution Party candidate Goode files as presidential write-in N.C.

Constitution Party presidential candidate Virgil Goode submitted 541 signatures to the state Board of Elections yesterday, qualifying him as write-in candidate in North Carolina.

Goode, 66, of Richmond, Virgina, served 16 years in Congress as a Democrat, Republican and independent. He said he petitioned to be certified as a write-in because “North Carolina’s harsh ballot access laws made it nearly impossible to get my name on the ballot.”

“If you want to really make a difference this year to really impact the executive branch, if you want a balance budget now, you’ll vote for Virgil Goode for president,” he said.… Read more ...

All three candidates participating in the candidate debate at the South Carolina Libertarian Party State Convention agreed that building the Libertarian Party would be a primary goal of their presidential campaign if they won the nomination.

Michigan Socialist Party Launches 2012 Petition Drive

At the end of May 2011, the Socialist Party launched a petition drive to get itself on the Michigan ballot. Probably 2,000 signatures have been collected so far. The law requires 32,261 valid signatures. However, the law also required already-qualified parties to poll only 16,083 votes in November 2010 in order to stay on the ballot.… Read more ...

Wrights to participate in first Libertarian presidential debate

BURNET, Texas (June 17) – Lee Wrights will participate in the first Libertarian presidential debate scheduled during the Future of the Libertarian Movement Conference in Manchester, N.H. June 19.

The one-day conference is sponsored by the Libertarian Parties of New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
