Scott Murphy is the candidate for the Democrats. Jim Tedisco is the Republican. The special election to fill the 20th Congressional District seat in New York, vacated when Kirsten Gillibrand was appointed to Senate, is too close to call. The State Board of Elections has voted to disqualify the Libertarian Party candidate for the 20th Congressional District, Eric Sundwall, from the election, just a week from the election. They did so after an investigation found four thousand of his ballot access signatures invalid.
