Link and early returns for NYC Mayor’s race

Both NBC and the NY Times have called the 2009 NYC Mayor race for Bloomberg. Though, there is not a big percentage of polling results in. And, as of 11 minutes ago, the AP says that Bloomberg and Thompson are in a close race. Bloomberg (Rep., Independence), Stephen Christopher (Conservative), Francisca “Frances” Villar (Party for Socialism and Liberation), Dan Fein (Socialist Workers), Billy Talen (Green), Jimmy McMillan (Rent is Too High), Joseph Dobrian (Libertarian).

The September 14 U.S. edition of Metro has this story about Frances Villar’s campaign for Mayor of New York city. Villar is the candidate of the Party for Socialism and Liberation. Metro is an international daily newspaper published in 100 cities in Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

NYC Mayor Race Round-Up

The article below by Elizabeth Benjamin at the Daily News reports a list of candidates who have already filed for Mayor on independent/non-automatic-ballot-status-third-party lines, and notes that petitions are expected from Green Party candidate Reverend Billy (William Talen). The article does not mention the Libertarian Party candidate, Joseph Dobrian, whose website does not mention the petition drive and who does not have a lot of coverage in news or blog searches on the web.… Read more ...
