Despite all the attention surrounding DFL endorsements in city races, DFLers aren’t the only candidates vying for spots at City Hall this fall.

The City Council’s official minority party, the Green Party, has endorsed five candidates for City Council seats.

Chance to test IRV: FairVote is hosting an on-line poll for Governor of Minnesota race

Thanks to Tom Cleland, a blogger and a supporter of Farheen Hakeem, for the tip on the FairVote poll.

FairVote is hosting a ranked-choice poll for Governor of Minnesota. The poll is a chance to see IRV (Instant Runoff Voting) applied in a race with several, third party candidates. The poll is at:

There are seven candidates on the ballot.

The Farheen Hakeem for Governor campaign has put out this ad. Hakeem is the Green Party candidate for Governor of Minnesota. Dan Dittmann, also pictured in the ad, is her running mate for Lieutenant Governor.

News that five homes of well-known peace activists in Minneapolis had been raided and searched by FBI agents yesterday morning brought expressions of outrage from members of the Green Party´s state coordinating committee.

Ken Pentel Runs for Governor of Minnesota Again Under New Party

Ken Pentel, the former gubernatorial candidate of the Green Party of Minnesota in 1998, 2002, and 2006, is running for Governor again–but under a different label this time:

The bike-riding former Green Party leader is doing it again – this time with the brand-new “Ecology Democracy Party.” He said the Green Party has a “great platform and beautiful people in it,” but wasn’t focused enough.
