I’m technically jumping the gun, as the vote runs through the end of today, July 25, but a peek at the vote numbers so far, running 10-1 in favor and well past a necessary quorum, indicate that I’m not jumping the gun in reality.

Lavender Caucus complaint against Georgia Green Party OKed by Accreditation Committee for Nat’l Committee action

Reportedly, the Accreditation Committee of the Green Party of the United States has accepted the complaint filed by the Lavender Caucus against the Georgia Green Party over its 2020 platform and specifically, the platform’s containing the Declaration on Women’s Sex-Based Rights, on a 24-0 vote with three abstentions. With that, it goes on to the National Committee of the Green Party for its consideration.… Read more ...

Ante ups for Georgia Green Party

In my first post here, last week, I noted that, with the Rhode Island GP withdrawing from the national party rather than face a de-accreditation fight, and the Alaska GP losing such a fight, in both cases over lack of support for 2020 presidential nominee Howie Hawkins, a number of Greens wondered if these were dominoes specifically lined up to create momentum to boot the Georgia Green Party next, over entirely different issues, issues which defenders of the party argue aren’t even addressable by de-accreditation.… Read more ...

Three Green Party Co-chairs resign from national Steering Committee

Three Green Party Co-chairs Resign from Steering Committee

Last week three members of the Green Party (US) Steering Committee resigned their positions as co-chairs of the Party days before two of them were to face votes to “Recall” them from office. Craig Thorsen (CA) and Mike Feinstein (CA) were both facing votes to remove them as Steering Committee members based on allegedly removing proposals from the Green Party National Committee’s online voting application without authorization.
