Rebel GOP activists launch drive to draft Libertarians Larry Sharpe and Andrew Hollister

News Growl has learned aproximately 100 county-level Republican activists in the New York GOP are launching an unauthorized bid today to draft the Libertarian gubernatorial ticket, Larry Sharpe and Andrew Hollister, as candidates in the September 12th Republican primary.

Minnesota Independence Party Gubernatorial Candidate at 13% in Poll

On August 31, the MPR News-Humphrey Institute released a poll for the Minnesota gubernatorial race. It shows: Republican Tom Emmer 34%; Democratic-Farmer-Labor Mark Dayton 34%, Independence Party Tom Horner 13%, undecided or other 19%. See this story.

Horner, the Independence Party nominee, is already higher in this poll than Jesse Ventura was in similar polls at this point in the 1998 election cycle.… Read more ...

Laura Wells announces bid for Green Party of California’s gubernatorial nomination

Laura Wells, who ran for California state controller in 2002 and 2006, has announced that she is running for governor of California.  This makes the Green Party primary a contested one, since Deacon Alexander is also running.  On her blog, she wrote,
