Jim Duensing, Libertarian Activist Shot by Police in Nevada, Sentenced to Probation

A former attorney who ran an unsuccessful bid for Clark County District Attorney was sentenced Thursday to five years probation on three felony charges stemming from a roadside confrontation with Las Vegas police.

John Wayne Smith Dies

John Wayne Smith

According to Libertarian Party of Florida (LPF) Region 6 Representative Vicki Kirkland, former Florida gubernatorial candidate and LPF Vice-Chairman John Wayne Smith has died.  He was 69.

In an e-mail to the LNC, Kirkland reports:

John had been dealing with cancer for several years and went into the hospital in August for an operation.

Jim Duensing is the former Nevada LP chairman. He has an LP candidate for U.S. Congress in 2004, 2006 and 2008.
