At the point at which 94% of the vote had been counted in the special U.S. Senate race in Massachusetts, the vote was: 1,148,400 for the Republican nominee; 1,029,600 for the Democratic nominee; 22,100 for the Libertarian who was running as an independent candidate.

New poll: Joe Kennedy at five percent

In a new Research 2000 poll, independent libertarian Joseph L. Kennedy, who is running for US Senate in Massachusetts against a Democrat and Republican, (and of no relation to the famous Kennedy family) is at five percent:

Libertarian Joseph Lewis Kennedy, an information technology specialist who is no relation to the Kennedy clan, gets 5 points, and 5 percent are undecided.

Rasmussen Polls Again

Last week, Rasmussen Reports conducted a poll that showed Martha Coakley ahead with fifty percent. But the poll failed to make any mention of independent candidate Joseph Kennedy. Now, Rasmussen has a new poll that includes the independent libertarian. The new poll shows forty-nine percent in favor of Coakley, forty-seven percent in favor of Brown, and three percent in favor of Kennedy, with two percent being undecided.… Read more ...

Boston Globe Doesn’t Like 3-Candidate Debates

The Boston Globe of December 16 has this editorial, telling the Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate in next month’s special election that she is wrong to refuse to debate, unless all three ballot-qualified candidates are invited. [Ie: Democrat Martha Coakley is demanding a three-way, all-candidate debate]

The person who wrote this editorial probably doesn’t know that in Minnesota in 1998, every gubernatorial debate included Jesse Ventura, and there were dozens of such debates, all year long, in the primary season as well as the general election season.

Joe Kennedy declares for US Senate in Massachusetts

As previously reported at IPR, Joe Kennedy was looking at running for US Senate in Massachusetts, and he has now declared:
