Waymire Drops Out, Endorses McAfee

A couple weeks ago (April 13), citing “circumstances beyond my control,” two-time Libertarian Party presidential candidate Joy Waymire dropped her 2016 bid for president and endorsed former rival John McAfee.

“I prefer his simplified way of communicating his views,” said Waymire of McAfee, “But regardless of whom the nominee is, I will support any of the candidates chosen as the nominee except for one.”

IPR asked Waymire to identify the one candidate she would not support, but she did not immediately respond.… Read more ...

Presidential Straw Poll at CA LP Convention Shows Johnson as Winner, McAfee in Second Place

There was a straw poll taken at the end of the Libertarian Party of California’s convention yesterday at a Hilton by the Los Angeles airport. This is following a debate among ten of the candidates the previous evening. Here are the results:

Libertarian 2016 presidential nomination poll: NOTA beating current field, Johnson overwhelming front-runner when included

Yesterday, August 30, 2015, the Palm Beach Free Press conducted an online poll of mostly Libertarian and independent voters to see where they stood on the 2016 presidential election. The conclusion was that the most likely of voters either do not know the officially announced Libertarian Party presidential candidates well enough or would prefer to vote “None of the Above” (NOTA) than for the candidates currently in the running.

California Libertarian Party Primary Results

The Libertarian Party nominated former New Mexico governor Gary Johnson for president last month, however, on Tuesday, California held a primary to determine whether the party’s nomination matched the wishes of its California members.

With all precincts reporting, the results did indeed match the convention as Johnson finished first among the field of nine candidates with 5,349 votes, 49.5% of the total.… Read more ...

Recently, a questionnaire of ten personal and ten policy questions was sent via e-mail to each Libertarian Party presidential candidate listed at Politics1. R. Lee Wrights was the only exception, since he answered the same questions last summer.  Former presidential candidate RJ Harris also answered the questions last summer.
