Florida Libertarians join statewide protest against red light cameras

The Libertarian Party of Florida (LPF), the National Motorists Association (NMA) and the Florida Civil Rights Association are jointly participating in a statewide protest this Saturday to raise awareness of the negative effects of red light cameras on driver’s safety and to support State Seantor Rene Garcia’s bill SB672 and the related bill in the Florida House H4087 put forth by Representative Corcoran to repeal red light cameras in the Florida.… Read more ...

LP of Florida says LNC, LNCC should boot Wayne Root

During a regular meeting of the Libertarian Party of Florida’s Executive Committee last night, they created a resolution (found below) to repudiate recent comments made by Libertarian National Congressional Committee chairman Wayne Allyn Root and suggested his removal from any leadership position within the Libertarian Party.

Libertarian candidate says to slash commissioner salaries

Palm Beach County commission candidate, Karl Dickey said this morning, “Our county commissioners should take a pay cut showing they are serious about getting the budget under control. We need to slash commissioner salaries by at least 35%.”

Although such a reduction is mostly symbolic based on the size of the county budget, it would show taxpayers the commissioners are serious about reigning in spending.… Read more ...

Palm Beach, Florida: Libertarian commission candidate Karl Dickey blasts county moratorium on pain clinics

The Palm Beach Post reports:

Our Jennifer Sorentrue reports that Palm Beach County commissioners this morning approved a one-year moratorium on approving new pain-management clinics amid concerns that drugs are being dispensed with insufficient controls.

A recent Palm Beach Post investigation found that more than 30 such clinics have opened in the county since 2007.… Read more ...
