News from Ed Bortz, Pittsburgh Green for US House

Pennsylvania Green Party candidate for US House in PA’s 14th District Ed Bortz has been very active recently. On September 13th, Bortz spoke out against hydrofracking at a Pittsburgh City Council meeting, which earned him a mention in at least one news outlet.

Green LeAlan Jones polling 9% in Illinois, with 26% rating him favorably

From Rasmussen:

With leaners added in, Kirk picks up 41% of the vote, while Giannoulias earns 37% support. Green Party candidate LeAlan Jones, included for the first time in a Rasmussen Reports survey of the race, earns nine percent (9%). Five percent (5%) prefer another candidate in the race, and another nine percent (9%) are undecided.

A Chicago Tribune/WGN-TV poll released September 2 shows these results for the U.S. Senate race in Illinois: Democrat Alexi Giannoullas 34%, Republican Mark Kirk 34%, Green Party nominee LeAlan Jones 6%, Libertarian Party nominee Mike Labno 3%, undecided 23%.

The previous best showing for U.S. Senate for the Illinois Green Party was in 2008, when Kathleen Cummings polled 2.24%.… Read more ...

Democratic Senate campaign in Illinois plays down Green candidate’s high poll numbers

A “spokesman” from Democratic candidate for US Senate Alexi Giannoulias in Illinois has said that he doesn’t “see [a Green victory for LeAlan Jones] happening,” and attributed Jones’ high poll numbers to the survey being taken early in the campaign.  Jones has polled as high as 14 percent, receiving 26 percent support among African Americans. … Read more ...
