Luzerne County, PA Libertarians still on the ballot – and ‘motivated’

A week ago, five third-party candidates seeking statewide office appeared to have enough signatures to make it on this fall’s ballot.

But legal challenges to their petitions forced them all to abandon their bids.

There were no challenges to the petitions filed by three Luzerne County Libertarian candidates seeking state office and their names will appear on the Nov.

Green candidate for State Rep. in PA receives Democrat’s endorsement, plus other campaign news

In July, Green Party candidate for State Representative in PA’s 194th district Hugh Giordano received the endorsement of Bill Morris, a Democrat who ran and lost in the May primary.  (Full disclosure:  I’m doing a lot of volunteer work for the Giordano campaign.)  The news made several newspapers, including the Philadelphia Public Record, which ran the headline “Green Party Candidate May Liven Up 194th State House Race:”

Giordano is not your usual Green Party advocate.

Green ‘political unknown’ running in race for newly created Cuyahoga County executive position

David Ellison, a Cleveland architect running for the Green Party, opposed the county charter that created the executive position. Ellison said he thought the executive structure was too hierarchical, but he later decided to run for the job.

“It just seemed like now was the time,” he said.
